INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE AND COMMUNITY
KingsGate Trading Limited (KTL) (operating as KingsGate Conference Centre) is owned by KingsGate Community Church. As a business, and as a member of the Meeting Industry Association (MIA), we believe in providing meeting and conferencing facilities to a high standard, giving you what we believe is the best in practice and support to deliver a perfect event for you. As a church, we’re committed to seeing people’s lives transformed by the power of God’s love.
All our profits are channelled into supporting the Church in its mission which includes direct support to local people and funding of mission overseas. As part of our investment into caring for our community, KingsGate Conference Centre is proud to partner with Care Zone, Foodbank and KingsGate Pantry.
Local Support
CARE ZONE
Care Zone is a furniture bank that aims to alleviate the effects of furniture poverty for households on low incomes.
We help households on low incomes access high quality essential furniture and small household goods that have been donated to us by members of the public. We also look to help raise aspirations and ambitions by providing volunteering placements and work experience for people who are looking to increase their employability or make a positive difference in the community.
PETERBOROUGH FOODBANK
We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.
KINGSGATE PANTRY
We believe everybody should have access to good food. For a small weekly subscription of £4.50, members at the KingsGate Pantry can purchase a weekly food shop, including fresh fruit, vegetables and family favourites, to stock up their cupboards and fridge.
The Pantry is run in partnership the Lime Academy Parnwell, for people who have children attending one of 6 local schools.
Overseas Missions
KingsGate partners with the following projects:
BULEMBU MINISTRIES
Eswatini is a country in Africa, about the size of Wales. It is one of the poorest countries in the world with many living on less than £1 a day. Nearly 30% of the 1.2 million population have HIV AIDS the highest rate in the world and the life expectancy is only 43 years.
Eswatini has around 200,000 orphan children so, in 2006, Challenge Ministries Swaziland purchased an old, abandoned mining town, with the vision of turning it into a large orphanage. Bulembu cares for 400 children. Each child has a new family and a safe home. The children enjoy good food and get a great education in the schools.
Bulembu has its own Clinic, Bakery, Dairy and Church. It also has some enterprises that it is developing to help with funding the project.
HEART FOR LEBANON
In Lebanon, soaring unemployment and political instability are driving more and more families below the poverty line every day.
Today Lebanon hosts the highest population of refugees per capita of any country in the world. These families have fled war and violence looking for shelter and basic provisions. Both Lebanese and refugee families are experiencing significant hardships.
In the midst of the growing crisis, God is moving in historic ways. More people are turning to Christ in the Middle East today than at any time in history.
Heart for Lebanon serve families who are living in desperate conditions. The majority include widows and orphans who struggle to survive the harsh realities of life in Lebanon. By assessing the specific needs of each family, they are able to provide physical care such as supplemental food, hygiene supplies, wood stoves, bedding, mattresses etc. They also provide value-based education on a consistent basis in the classroom and the tent settlements to teach, encourage, and equip as many children as possible.
